A ClickFunnels alternative you own: the whole funnel without the monthly bill

Looking for a ClickFunnels alternative? Here's what a funnel actually needs, what renting one costs over three years, and how to run the same funnel on accounts you own.

If you want a ClickFunnels alternative, the honest answer is this: you need a page, a checkout, an order bump, a one-click upsell, a few emails and a way to see what's working. You don't need a page builder with a monthly bill attached. You can run that whole funnel on your own Cloudflare, Stripe and Resend accounts, with your AI doing the setup, and pay once for the software.

That's the short version. The rest of this post is the long version: what you're paying for today, what you'd lose by leaving, and who should stay put.

What ClickFunnels is good at

ClickFunnels made the sales funnel mainstream. Before it, most people sold with a single page and a PayPal button. ClickFunnels showed that the steps around the sale matter as much as the page: the add-on before payment, the offer right after it, the follow-up emails. That idea is right, and it's the reason funnels outsell plain checkout pages.

It's also a drag-and-drop page builder. If you want to move blocks around with a mouse, that's what you're paying for.

What it costs to rent a funnel

These are public list prices, October 2026, paid monthly. Annual billing is cheaper on every platform, and card fees aren't included.

PlatformEntry planTop planThree years at the entry price
ClickFunnels$97/mo$297/mo$3,492
GoHighLevel$97/mo$497/mo$3,492
Kajabi$179/mo$499/mo$6,444
Kartra$59/mo$549/mo$2,124
Systeme.io$17/mo$97/mo$612

The three-year number is the one to look at. A funnel isn't a one-month project. If it works, you'll run it for years, and every one of those months is a payment. If you stop paying, the funnel stops. The full side-by-side, with what each platform is built for, is on the comparison page.

What a funnel actually needs

Strip the marketing away and a working sales funnel has six parts:

  1. A sales page that says what you sell, who it's for and what it costs.
  2. A checkout on that page, not a redirect to a different-looking site.
  3. An order bump: one small add-on offered right before the card form. (What an order bump is and how to price one.)
  4. A one-click upsell after payment, charged to the card they just used, with a lighter downsell if they say no. (How one-click upsells work.)
  5. Emails: the order and download links, a free gift for people not ready to buy, a short welcome series, and one reminder for people who opened checkout and left.
  6. Numbers: where visitors came from, who clicked buy, who paid, and which offer they took.

Everything else is nice to have. A course area, a community, a quiz, A/B tests. Useful, but the six above are what make the money.

The owned version

Here's the same funnel, on accounts you own:

  • Cloudflare hosts it. Your pages and the funnel logic run as a Cloudflare Worker. The free plan covers a small funnel; Workers Paid is $5 a month when traffic grows.
  • Stripe takes the money. Payments land in your Stripe account. You pay Stripe's card fees and nothing on top.
  • Resend sends the emails. Free up to 3,000 emails a month. Your list lives in your Resend account.
  • Funnelr is the funnel. The checkout window, the bump, the one-click upsells, the downsells, the emails, the free gift, the analytics and the admin. It's bought once.

Nobody sits in the middle. If you stopped using Funnelr tomorrow, your customers would still be in your Stripe and your list would still be in your Resend. (More on why that matters: own your customer list.)

"But I can't build that myself"

You don't build it. Your AI does. Funnelr ships as a folder with a playbook written for AI coding agents: Claude, Cursor, Codex, Gemini. You open the folder in the agent and say what you sell:

I sell a $49 budgeting course. Add the $19 workbook as an order bump, a coaching call as the one-click upsell, and a free budget sheet for emails.

The agent builds the site, writes the config, and runs the whole purchase on your computer with fake payments: checkout, bump, upsell, download, refund. Then it walks you through connecting your three accounts and putting it live. It won't take real payments until you say so. There's a longer walkthrough in launching a digital product in a weekend with Claude.

That's the part that changed. Owning your funnel used to mean hiring a developer. Now it means an afternoon with an AI that follows a script.

What you give up

Being straight about it:

  • No drag-and-drop editor. Your pages are HTML that your AI writes and edits. You say "make the headline shorter" instead of dragging a box. Some people prefer that. Some don't.
  • No marketplace of templates. You get a blank funnel template and a worked example, and your AI writes the page for your product.
  • You hold the keys. Your Stripe, your Cloudflare, your Resend. If something needs a new API key, you're the one who makes it. The setup checker (doctor) tells you exactly which one.

If those are deal breakers, stay with a platform. That's a fine choice.

What you get

  • The funnel steps that matter, already wired up and tested: checkout on the page, bump, one-click upsell, downsell, free gift with popups, welcome emails, checkout reminders.
  • Your own analytics, built in and cookieless: sources, UTM links, devices, countries, landing pages, every offer taken or declined.
  • Members features when you need them: courses, coaching with booking, a community, newsletters, private podcasts, events, affiliates.
  • Unlimited sites. Every new idea is a new folder, not a new plan.

How to switch without losing sales

If you're running a ClickFunnels funnel today, don't turn it off first. Do it in this order:

  1. Build the owned version next to it. It runs on a free workers.dev address while you test.
  2. Run a real test purchase, then refund it. That proves money in, delivery and refunds closing access.
  3. Move your list. Export your contacts and bring them into your Resend audience (and the CRM, through the API). People who opted in stay opted in.
  4. Point your domain at the new site. Your old links can redirect.
  5. Cancel the subscription once a week of real orders has gone through.

There's a page written for this case: leaving your funnel platform.

Who should stay on ClickFunnels

  • You want a visual editor and you'll never touch HTML, even through an AI.
  • You rely on a specific template or integration you can't replace.
  • Someone else runs your funnels and they know the platform inside out.

Who should own their funnel

  • You sell one to five products: a course, coaching, downloads, a membership.
  • You'd rather pay once than every month.
  • You want your customer list in your own accounts.
  • You test new ideas often and don't want a new plan for each one.

Not sure which camp you're in? The two-minute quiz gives you a straight answer, including "don't buy it yet" when that's the right one.

FAQ

What is the best ClickFunnels alternative?

The best one depends on what you're optimising for. If you want a drag-and-drop editor at a lower monthly price, a budget all-in-one is the closest match. If you want to stop paying monthly and own the whole funnel, run it on your own Cloudflare, Stripe and Resend with software you buy once, like Funnelr.

Is there a ClickFunnels alternative without a monthly fee?

Yes. Funnelr is bought once. The accounts it runs on have free plans that cover a small funnel: Cloudflare's free plan, Stripe's per-transaction fees only, and Resend's free tier up to 3,000 emails a month.

Can I keep my customers if I leave ClickFunnels?

Export your contacts before you cancel, then bring them into your new email tool and CRM. With an owned funnel, new customers land in your own Stripe and your own Resend from the first sale, so the question doesn't come up again.

Do I need to know how to code?

No. Your AI coding agent does the building from a playbook that ships with Funnelr. You make the decisions (what you sell, the prices, the offers) and do the few things only you can do, like creating accounts and pasting keys into a file.
